While Vice President of the United States, Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. (1948-) ran the 1997 Marine Corps Marathon in 4:58:25 with his daughters.[1]
| Gore started exercising when he was about 10 years old, in a response to a challenge from his father to do pushups with him every morning or every evening until Gore could get to the point that he could do more than his father. Gore has been jogging regularly for the past 20 years. "It's an important part of my daily routine," said Gore.[2] |
Gore attended St. Albans School from 1956 to 1965.[3][4][5] While at St. Albans, Gore played on the varsity football team, threw discus for the track and field team, and participated in basketball, art, and government.[5]
