Baby stroller
From WikiRun
| A baby stroller is a wheeled device which a runner can push in order to carry a baby during a run. Most are designed to carry just one child, but special models are designed to carry two or three children.
How to train with a baby strollerBe aware of how pushing a baby stroller is modifying the runner's stride. Do some training without a baby stroller to preserve normal muscle strength and gait. Baby stroller racingMany races do not allow runners to participate while pushing a baby stroller, and runners should check with the race before bringing a stroller. Some races such as the Lilac Bloomsday Run in Spokane[1] and the Rudolph's Red Nose 10K in Fairfax, Virginia have a separate start for baby strollers. Bloomsday requires the baby strollers to walk the entire course, while Rudolph's has a separate prize structure for them. |
Michael Wardian claims to have set the world record for running a full marathon while pushing his son in a baby stroller with a time of 2:42:21 at the 2007 Frederick Marathon.[2] The previous record was set by Michal Kapral in the 2004 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon.[2]
