John Barnett Rambo (1943-) is an American high jumper who competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics, where he won the bronze medal.

Rambo competed for Poly High and then Long Beach Community College, where he earned JUCO Player of the Year. While at Cal State Long Beach, John Rambo won the 1964 NCAA high jump. He won All-America honors at Cal State in 1964. Following the Olympics, he continued to play varsity basketball as well as track. One weekend, Rambo jumped 6'9" on a friday night and scored 42 points in a basketball game the next day. He was the basketball team's most valuable player in 1965.[1]

In 1965, Rambo was drafted in the sixth round by the St. Louis Hawks of the NBA, but never actually played pro basketball. Rambo later won the AAU indoor title in 1967 and 1969. After graduating, he represented the Southern Cal Striders and came close to making the Olympic team for a second time when he tied for fourth place at the 1968 Trials.
