Stefano Baldini

Stefano Baldini (1971-) is an Italian runner who competed in the 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008 Summer Olympics.

In 1996, he ran in the 5000m and 10000m, but made the semi-finals in the 5K and finished 18th in the 10K. Starting with the 1995 Venice Marathon, Baldini started focusing on the marathon, and competed in that event in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics, winning the gold in 2004.

After the military service in 1991 as italian policeman with the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro in Padova police station, Calcestruzzi Corradini S.P.A employed him on june 1992 as an administrative officer. He was employed by them until 2001, when he shifted to part-time status.

Since 1996, Baldini has been coached by Luciano Gigliotti.
